๐ Week 7/? in unemployment land has been interesting.
๐ I have a confession: I started job hunting in November 2023. Without divulging too much, it became clear that my previous employer would make more cuts within the organization.
So, I have roughly 100-150 job applications floating around. I gave up tracking my applications because my ADHD brain cannot handle another spreadsheet. Instead, I've created filters in my email to label all my applications and rejections.
Out of all those applications, I've only had three interviews and four pre-screenings. ๐คท๐ฟโโ๏ธ
๐ฅ I had breast reduction surgery on Wednesday. I'm blessed to have a great support system that has stepped in to help me as I recover. I have chronic migraines and body pain that impacted my quality of life. My hope is that this surgery will help me regain control of my life.
๐ถ & ๐ฑ Gabby the Dog and Bridgette the Senior Kitty are finally getting along. They can stay in the same room without a fight breaking out. Now, the entire family is spoiled by their joint cuddle puddles.
๐ฒ I'm getting a boatload of recruiters texting me. I find it very intrusive and odd that people think this is appropriate. No, I will not contact you via WhatsApp. No, I don't believe you're legitimate. And even if you were, why don't you just email me?
๐ข I've had roughly 10 people soliciting services for job coaching and resume writing. I've already cursed one of them out. I don't have patience for these types of solicitations right now. Half of you aren't based in the United States and the other half are probably bots. I have resume writers I trust. Please leave me alone.
๐ My application for food stamps and unemployment insurance was denied. I will be appealing both decisions. Wish me luck.
How's life in unemployment land? How are you holding up?
