It's week three in unemployment land. How have I been? Glad you asked!
So far I've:
๐ค Gone to a concert with my closest friends.
๐ท Recovered from my first Covid-19 infection.
๐ Walked my dog more often.
๐ฒ Talked on the phone with my older brothers and cousins for over an hour.
๐ณ Cooked wonderful meals for myself and my family.
๐ Read several books.
๐ฉ Submitted an unspeakable amount of applications.
Did you notice that the applications came last? That's because the priority in life is never the grind. The grind doesn't align with my values or why I work. Sure, I had an interview and I got far in the process. Sure, they turned me down. But that's not God's plan for me. So, I keep the ball rolling.
I say all this to encourage my colleagues who were impacted by Terakeet's restructuring to stay in alignment. Remember what your why is--that thing that gets you up out of bed in the morning. Because I guarantee you it isn't a job. The job is secondary. The job, your career, is a part of the journey that is your life.
I'm open to conversations about my career journey and where I go next. I'm a stellar writer, marketer, SEO specialist, and all-around kick ass researcher. So let's talk. Where are you in your journey, job seekers? Hiring managers: what does your team need? My network: how are you feeling in this market? What keeps you in alignment?
